プロダクト・デザイン関連展リスト作成

デザインに関連する情報をアーカイブする場合に「デザインに関する展覧会」はきわめて重要な事象として位置づけられるであろう。そこに出品された作品についてはもちろんのこと開催館、開催時期、関連イベント、構成内容等、展覧会の開催情報は、重要情報の集積体である。しかしながら、わが国において過去に開催された展覧会情報が集約されたデータベース等はまだ存在しない。そこで武蔵野美術大学では、プロダクト・デザイン中核拠点として、これまでに国内で開催された同領域に関する展覧会情報の集約に着手した。
収集対象をプロダクト・デザイン領域に限定したとはいえ、国内で過去に開催された展覧会情報を網羅的に収集することは容易いことではないので、今後も情報収集を継続していく必要があるが、このリストは、デザインに関する新たなアーカイブの一例ではないかと考える。

Creation of Lists of Product Design-Related Exhibitions

When archiving design-related information, design-related exhibitions should be seen as critical events. In addition to the exhibits shown at these events, the exhibiting museum/institutions, the date of the exhibition, related events, the composition of the exhibition, the publicity announcing the hosting of the exhibition, etc. all come together to form a mass of important information. That having been said, there has yet to be a database or other collection of data on exhibitions that have been held in the past in Japan. To fill this gap, as a core product design center, Musashino Art University has begun a project to accumulate data on exhibitions related to product design that have been held in Japan to date.
Although this endeavor is limited to the field of product design, we realize that comprehensively collecting data on exhibitions that have been held domestically in the past is not an easy task, and we will have to continue to work hard at data gathering well into the future, but we believe that the lists will serve as examples for new archives related to design.
